Training

James Quinn and Daniel Sheehan teach GIS in several Columbia Departments and we often have GIS intern positions with the group.  Several doctoral and masters students work with BEH and we have a growing list on alumni.

  • Sheehan is teaching a GIS short course as part of the 2013 Department of Epidemiology EPIC summer program.

We have developed a multilevel modeling training data set using NYC Community Health Survey data and Catherine Richards has developed a short course training curriculum to go along with the data set.  Richards has taught the multilevel modeling short course at the American Cancer Society, CUNY and as part of the EPIC summer program.

  • Richards and James Stark from NYCDOHMH are teaching the multilevel modeling short course as part of the 2013 Department of Epidemiology EPIC summer program.

Also as part of 2013 EPIC short courses, Steve Mooney is teaching a course of statistical programming R.
